I can identify the exact moment I knew Heirloominary needed to become a reality... it was because of a rock that looked like Grammy’s toe.

I can identify the exact moment I knew Heirloominary needed to become a reality... it was because of a rock that looked like Grammy’s toe.

My son found it years ago on a family vacation, stared at it for a moment, and proudly announced that it looked just like Grammy’s toe. She was stuck back at the hotel with an injured toe and he gave it to her when we got back. She still has it.

That one silly rock became a keepsake, not because it is rare or beautiful, but because we keep telling the story. (I'll tell you more in a future post!)

I’m now in a phase of life that many women find themselves in: my children are heading out into the world, my friends are downsizing their homes, and my retired family members are simplifying their lives. We’re all asking the same question: What do I do with all these things?

Over the years, I’ve realized it’s not the things that matters, it’s the stories behind them. Some things we can’t part with because they remind us of someone, someplace, or some moment in time. It could be a valued souvenir, something passed down through generations, or a humble rock. The item itself doesn’t matter, it’s the memory it carries.

But when the story isn’t written down, it’s easily lost. Desperate decluttering or time can erase context, and slowly, the meaning and memory embedded in our things begin to fade.

That’s why written stories are important. And that’s why I started Heirloominary.[QUOTE]

We created Heirloominary to help people give their cherished things the stories they deserve, and in doing so, start a new kind of tradition. One where meaning, not material, is what we save.

Through stories on social media, future community events, and our upcoming line of printed and digital tools, we’re making it easy, and joyful, to capture the stories that matter. Everything we create is designed to spark connection and preserve meaning, for today and for the future.

The name Heirloominary blends heirloom and luminary because when you share the stories behind the things you treasure, you shine a light on what truly matters.

Thanks for being here. We can’t wait to hear your story.
